Privacy Policy
This page explains how Unicut Precision Limited collects and uses information through this website, including contact and careers enquiries, cookies, and optional Website Visitor Intelligence.
Who we are
Unicut Precision Limited (“Unicut”, “we”, “us”) is a precision CNC machining company based at 5-8 Tewin Ct, Tewin Road, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL7 1AU.
Company number: 2762322. VAT: GB 544 3918 325.
Unicut is the controller of personal information processed through this website.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the website and which forms you submit.
Contact and quotation enquiries
When you use our contact form, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, subject line and message, together with your confirmation that the information may be collected and stored.
Careers applications
When you use our careers form, we may collect your name, email address, message and any CV or file you choose to upload.
Website Visitor Intelligence
Unicut uses a first-party Website Visitor Intelligence system to understand how visitors use our website and to help identify potential business interest at organisation level.
The optional cookies and similar technologies that enable this tracking are used only after you accept them. Accepting those cookies is not the same as the lawful basis for every later use of the information collected.
This may collect technical information including IP address, pages viewed, timestamps, referring page, browser or user-agent information, and anonymous visitor and session identifiers.
We may use IP address and network information with our IP intelligence provider, IPLocate, to determine whether a visit appears to originate from an identifiable organisation or corporate network. Where an organisation can be identified, we may use this information for business development purposes, including researching the organisation and recording or matching it within our business development system.
The system is intended to identify organisations rather than named individuals from their website browsing alone.
If you reject optional cookies, the anonymous visitor and session identifiers used by the system are not created, and this tracking does not run.
Cookies and optional analytics
unicut_vi_consent — a preference cookie used to remember whether you granted or denied optional tracking. It is necessary to store that choice and is not itself an optional analytics cookie. Lifetime: up to 1 year.
unicut_vi_vid — optional anonymous visitor identifier. Created only after you accept optional tracking. Lifetime: up to 1 year.
unicut_vi_sid — optional anonymous session identifier. Created only after you accept optional tracking. Lifetime: 30 minutes of inactivity.
You can change your preference at any time using Cookie preferences in the website footer.
How we use your information
We use contact form submissions to respond to machining enquiries, quotation requests and technical questions.
We use careers form submissions to consider applications and communicate with people interested in joining Unicut.
Optional Visitor Intelligence cookies are used only if you accept them. Where the system then collects technical information, we may use it to understand website use and to identify potential organisation-level business interest.
Purposes and lawful bases
Contact and quotation enquiries — we use this information to respond to enquiries, provide quotations and take steps connected with a potential business relationship or contract.
Careers applications — we use this information to assess applications and communicate with candidates in connection with potential employment.
Optional cookies and similar technologies that enable Website Visitor Intelligence — used with your consent.
Subsequent processing of Visitor Intelligence personal data — including IP address, technical usage information and organisation-level identification for business development — may be carried out for Unicut’s legitimate interests in understanding B2B interest and developing business relationships, where those interests are not overridden by individuals’ rights and interests.
Who we share information with
Unicut may use trusted service providers to operate this website and associated systems. They only process information as necessary to provide their services to us.
This currently includes website hosting and infrastructure (Vercel), database hosting (Neon), transactional email (Resend), and IP or network intelligence for organisation-level identification (IPLocate).
We may also use IT and security providers as needed to keep the website and related systems available and secure.
We do not sell personal information.
International data transfers
Some of the service providers we use may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep information
Website Visitor Intelligence records are normally retained for up to 90 days, unless they need to be kept for longer for a legitimate business, legal or security reason.
Contact, enquiry and recruitment information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and to meet legal obligations.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights in relation to your personal information, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability where applicable.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw optional analytics and Visitor Intelligence consent at any time using Cookie preferences in the website footer, then choosing Reject.
If you reject optional cookies, we do not create the anonymous visitor or session identifiers used by Website Visitor Intelligence.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how Unicut uses personal information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection.
Further information is available on the ICO website.
